Katy Tracey RVN

Katy joined the Boness Team in February of 2021 after a house move and feels like she has landed on her feet here. She has a particular interest in pet nutrition and weight clinics and also enjoys interacting with the clients, monitoring anaesthesia and looking after patients in our kennels.

Katy qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2019 after studying with the College of Animal Welfare and completing her training with a veterinary practice based in Bletchley. Prior to this Katy studied for a BSc in Animal Science and then worked for a rehoming charity for nearly five years. Whilst working for the rehoming charity she gained experience working with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furries! Katy also learnt a lot about animal behaviour and training whilst working at the rehoming centre and also regularly fostered pregnant cats and their kittens until they were old enough to go off to their new homes.

Outside of work Katy enjoys photography and caravan trips with her new husband who is a keen hang glider pilot. These trips take her to many beautiful areas of the country such a Yorkshire and Wales - which is great for photography! As well as having a pet tortoise named Shelly, Katy recently rehomed a little black stray cat brought into work with an injury. Jiji has settled into her new home fantastically and her favourite hobby is getting herself into trouble!
