About Us

Providing outstanding primary healthcare in Bedfordshire

The Practice in Barton-le-Clay is an RCVS accredited hospital, which is the highest status the RCVS can award in the UK.

Facilities at our hospital in Barton-Le-Clay include 3 consulting rooms, a safe and secure ward for in-patients and day-patients including a separate cattery. We are also lucky enough to have a state of the art CT scanner to complement our other diagnostic equipment.

We also have a branch practice in the centre of Flitwick giving our clients flexibility when booking appointments. This popular practice offers Vet consultations, Nurse clinics and routine surgical procedures.

Our experienced and friendly team work across both sites and look forward to welcoming you.

What to Expect

  • Welcome: our staff will always welcome you with a smile. Usually, you will be asked to weigh your pet when you arrive and of course, if it is your first visit you will be asked to complete a registration form.
  • Consultations: usually the vet and nurse will conduct the consultation together. This provides you with the best opportunity to discuss all your pet health queries or concerns.
  • In-Patients: are constantly monitored throughout their time with us. We have vets and nurses on site 24/7 including Bank Holidays. During procedures that require anaesthesia a nurse will monitor the patient’s status at all times and will make recordings of various parameters such as heart rate, breathing rate and oxygen levels. After surgery is completed the patient is monitored until they have recovered from the anaesthetic.
  • Client Service: at all times we aim to provide you with whatever you need. If there is something you think we should be doing and have not, please do let us know. We appreciate your input in improving our service. You can contact us at any time by phone, email or post.
  • Discharges: when in-patients are ready to be discharged we will arrange with you an appointment time. A nurse will go through the discharge details and any medication that needs to be given.
  • Payments: payments for all treatments are required before you leave the practice. Payments can be made in cash or by credit/debit card.
